These beautiful baskets are made near the coast of North carolina where Long Leaf Pines thrive. The needles can be as long as 15 inches. Pine Garden baskets are hand made by Melanie using individually selected and prepared pine needles fresh from the tree and ground area. The needles are collected, soaked and cleaned. The basket is formed by building coil, sewn in the desired shape. They are allowed to air dry and then sealed to protect the surface.

We saw these wonderful paintings on stone while wandering Galleries in the Colorado Rocky Mountains after our January skiing trip. We begged till we got information on how to locate this wonderful artist. Syl agreed to let us represent her here in Ohio and we are delighted. They have to be seen to be believed. |
